Swensemble is a gateway for musicians to enter a contemporary world of new music. ‘New’ being the operative word.

We are looking carefully for musicians who can play to a high standard, can improvise, compose on the fly or on paper, and perform. The concept is to create an ensemble forum of eager passionate musicians to compose and perform the music of those who are indeed members of the ensemble. Fundamentally it will consist of a composing collective of performing musicians collaborating new and interesting music with their personal skills being wholly an integral part of the music.

The genre is only defined as contemporary classical and at this embryonic stage to amalgamate an initial handful minds of creative people to formulate new music and subsequently perform just that. This will be created through rehearsal time that we can all attend and slowly and surely evolve a unique high quality contemporary ensemble from the South West.

Eventually the goal is to make an impact to music on a local and national scale of course, and there is no reason why this could not happen. We all love good quality music.

Whether you are a jazz musician, pop, folk, orchestral or a loner, is doesn’t actually make any difference. So long as you are passionate, egoless and want to work with like minded creative musicians, you fit the criteria.
